Summary: The setting could not have been more gorgeous at this house, set along a lovely fjord with crystal blue ocean waters. We spent hours relaxing in the Icelandic "hot pot" (hot tub) in the rear of the property, soaking muscles and clearing our minds. (Unfortunately we were not as lucky as other reviewers and did not see any whales, but we did spot a seal near the local harbor.)The house was clean and spacious, easily big enough for 4-5 people. Owner Thomas emailed us a very helpful, 30-page guide to the house and surrounding region, with advice on local attractions. If you like to kayak, I'd recommend checking out Cape Tours, which is based a block away, and whale-watching in Hauganes, directly across the harbor.Grenivik is a bit out of the way. It's about a half-hour's drive from Akureyri and adds that much more time to trips to Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Husavik. etc. But to us, it was worth it to enjoy the beauty and isolation. We loved our stay.
