Ribbonwood Quarters is basic and rustic family run farm accommodation. It is well loved and cared for, a little rough around the edges which creates its imperfect country charm.
Consisting of one main cosy cottage and four cabins, in total it has 20 beds. It is suitable for individuals, families, small groups and large groups.
When you make a booking it blocks the entire complex, therefore it is entirely private for your use and not shared accommodation.
The main quarters cottage has two seperate bedrooms first bedroom has two single beds and second bedroom has a double bed. Open plan kitchen and small lounge area with log burner plus bathroom/laundry and a separate dining area.
There are also four cabins which in total have 15 single beds (including 4 sets of bunks) and a 1 double bed. Plus two separate showers, toilets and laundry. No linen/bedding is avaiable for cabins.
In total there are three bathrooms, two washing machines, two ovens, two fridges and a medium chest freezer. We can supply a portacot and highchair if required on request
Linen and basics (bed linen, towels, tea towels, hand soap, dishwashing liquid and toilet paper) are supplied for the Quarters Cottage, up to 4 guests (one double bed and two single beds). Any guests staying in cabins, must supply their own linen and basics
Alps to Ocean Trail runs directly past the Quarters and the Ahuriri Conservation Park is right next door. The park offers a range of walks, horse trekking, fishing, huts, and hunting, including the Te Araroa Trail. Within a 5 - 10 minute drive are the Clay Cliffs, Quailburn Historic Woolshed Site, Quailburn Bush Walk and Wairepo Kettleholes Track. Star gaze the night sky from the Quarters, it can be spectacular.
Explore the nearby towns of Omarama and Twizel, Omarama Hot Tubs and High Country Salmon Farm, all within a 20-minute drive. Lake Ohau, Lake Benmore and Lake Ruataniwhai are within a half-hour drive for swimming, fishing or boating.
This accommodation is on Ribbonwood Station which is a working farm with stock, machinery and dogs; there is no other farm access without prior permission. However being situated on the farm it gives you an insight into farm life, you are surrounded in open spaces with mountain and farm views, with farm animals often in the next door paddocks.
Ribbonwood Quarters is 20 -minutes from the main state highway. Situated on Quailburn Road, includes 10km of easy gravel road which is suitable for all vehicle types.
